The Last Kiss, Scoop DVD Review

As you may know (well if you didnt now you know) I am a FAN of Netflix! What an easy way to get movies without going outside. I get my movies in a day or two, so no big deal!(I do need a break from watching movies time to time) Pretty fast delivery in my opinion, also my local BLOCKBUSTER has limited titles anyways.

So I just saw "Scoop" starring Scarlett Johansson and Hugh Jackman and Woody Allen. Scarlett Johansson's character is a very cute and likable character. (Cute to see her in a quirky type of role, instead of the serious ones) The story is about a reporter who died recently, magically(or ghostly (i made up that word if its not a word)) appears before Scarlett and tells him that a Lord/Royalty(Hugh Jackman)is the Tarot Card Killer. She starts to investigate Hugh Jackman to see if he is truly the Tarot Card Killer. I wont say anymore because I dont want to spoil it...but she does sort of fall for him (since he is oh so charming blah!) It was a cute movie, although Woody Allen's character is annoying as hell!!! But that was the point and he did a good job at doing it. So go and put it on your queue (if you subscribe to netflix) and rent it. It's a cute movie! mogura approves!

"The Last Kiss" starring Zach Braff, Casey Affleck, Rachel Bilson is about a bunch of 30-year olds trying to adapt and come to terms with adulthood. This movie felt pretty real in terms of what men and women and go through and feel in terms of their relationship. Coming to terms with adulthood is not an easy thing and it is clearly shown in the movie. No matter how old you are, we are all afraid of something, whether it's becoming an adult or feeling like theres nothing left in life, feeling trapped, etc... The Last Kiss shows us all those feelings mostly from the Male point of view, since the woman's point of view is shown mostly from the Jacinda Barrett's character's mom(the younger females in the movie seem to not have much dialog) All those feelings that you may have had in terms of growing up or being in a relationship, I felt it is shown in this movie very well. I thought the movie was very well acted: The struggling husband who has a child, a boyfriend who feels theres no surprises left in his life. I'm sure many men and women feel scared of what's coming ahead in the unknown future. Making choices is a part of life and its those choices in life that will make you or break you...
But make sure you go and check out "The Last Kiss" Mogura approves!

I agree! I like Scarlet Johansson's character in Scoop very much actually. I was a little bored of her serious roles.

I saw Scoop a while ago. While it is not Woody Allen's best, it's still fluffy fun. I like Scarlett here except she is sometimes a bit mannered in her acting. But she is adequate enough in this role.

I just saw The Last Kiss last week. I get what the movie is trying to say but I find the chararters are so stupid. I understand the fear that these guys are facing but seriously none of them have redeeming quality. They are either immature or irresponsible. Also, I cannot see what makes Zach Braff character is so appealing. Seriously, physically, he is ok but character wise? I cannot believe for a second that a hottie like Rachel Bilson character will go after this guy so much. I don't think it's the actor's fault but rather the screenplay doesn't show much depth of each characters. What makes him so desirable??? The fact he has the heart to do the thing he did makes it hard to understand or root for him. I am all for character with flaws; God forbid everybody is like that million dollar baby chick, but at least shows something that make us wanna root for the character.

Yes very true, theres nothing that shows why Rachel Bilson was so attrated to Zach Braff's Character that part was kinda iffy...but whatever its a movie. The real question is...if Zach Braff's girlfriend in the movie wasnt't pregnant...you think he would have chosen Rachel Bilson...hmmm I think he would go for Rachel Bilson.

Hmmm..interesting..to be honest, I don't know what he sees in Rachel Bilson character either. I mean, she is fun and all but beside that..??? Maybe he likes girl who can put a mix CD.... At the very least, Jacinda character shows that she loves him and cherishs the relationship. Although she is kinda judgmental. Like I said, who is likeable in this movie???

Although Rachel Bilson's character is really cute and fun and exciting, after all she is a college kid and it is just a fling for Zach Braff. I think even if Zach Braff's girlfriend was not pregnant, he would go back to her still. The whole point of the movie is about how he realized who his true love is, and Rachel Bilson's character helped him realize that. If he only chose to go back to his girlfriend because she is pregnant, then he must still feel trapped...and thats not what the movie is all about, no?
